Describe a world and get a hand-drawn fantasy map - parchment, inked coastlines, mountain symbols and a compass rose - for novels, D&D campaigns, worldbuilding and game design.
How the fantasy map generator works
Describe the world: how many landmasses, the climate bands, key features like an inland sea, a mountain spine or an archipelago, and how zoomed in you want to be - a continent, a kingdom or a single island. The generator inks it onto parchment with terrain symbols, rivers, settlement markers and a compass rose. Rerun to reshape the geography, then add your own place names in an image editor.
Tips for the best results
Geography reads better when you give it logic: 'mountain range down the east coast, rivers draining west into a great bay'. Ask for continent, region or city scale explicitly. Leave lettering out of the prompt and add real place names yourself - generated map text is almost always gibberish.
