Grade a photo the way a film colourist would: a filmic contrast curve, a deliberate palette, gentle halation and fine grain. The result reads like a still from a film rather than a snapshot with a filter on it.
How the cinematic photo filter works
Upload the picture. Describe the grade you want, for example 'teal shadows, warm skin, filmic contrast, subtle grain' or 'desaturated steel-blue thriller look'. Say how strong it should be. Run the tool and check skin tones and shadow detail at full size. If the blacks crushed or the faces went green, ask for more shadow detail and natural skin, then run again on the same upload.
Tips for the best results
Name the palette and the mood together, since 'cinematic' alone means very different things. Ask for skin tones to stay warm even in a cool grade. Keep some detail in the deepest shadows so the picture does not go muddy. A little grain sells the look more than heavy colour does.
